많이 사용하는 우쿨렐레 모델이 세 가지 있는데요.
크기순으로 소프라노(Soprano) < 콘서트(Concert) < 테너(Tenor)입니다.
Kiwaya FS-1은 가장 작은 소프라노(Soprano)입니다.
처음 우쿨렐레를 만져 본 날,
작은 바디에서 맑은소리가 통통 튀어나오는 게
정말 신기했습니다.
기타만큼 오래 치지 않았지만,
치면 칠수록 재미있어요.
크기가 작아서 편하게 들고 다닐 수 있고요.
위 사진의 ①번이 소프라노, ②번은 바디는 소프라노지만 네크가 긴 롱넥 소프라노예요.
③번은 콘서트(Cutaway/Pickup), ④번이 테너, ⑤번은 기타렐레입니다.
소프라노가 가장 우쿨렐레다운 소리를 내지만 네크가 좁고 바디가 작아서 호불호가 갈려요.
롱넥 소프라노는 소프라노 통 소리는 좋은데 네크가 긴 게 필요한 분들이 쓰면 되고요.
콘서트는 우리나라에서 가장 많이 쓰는 사이즈에요. 제 악기는 고음 쪽 바디가 파이고 픽업이 달린 모델입니다.
테너는 통이 커서 소리도 크고, 4번줄을 한 옥타브 낮은 G선을 끼우면 연주의 폭이 넓어지죠.
기타렐레는 줄이 기타처럼 여섯 줄이고 조율은 6번줄부터 A D G C E A입니다.
1~4번줄은 Low G줄을 낀 우쿨렐레와 같습니다.
사진으로 봐서는 크기가 짐작이 되지 않을 겁니다.
우쿨렐레도 기타 고를 때와 마찬가지로 악기를 안아 봐야 해요.
악기를 잘 아는 분과 함께 악기점에 가서 고르거나
널리 알려진 악기를 고르세요.
크기는 작아도 기타 가격과 같거나 조금 더 비싸요.
